Not Guilty At Trial – DWI-Misdemeanor Repetition

New DWI Law In Texas Comes Into Effect The Medlin Law FirmThe Medlin Law Firm, led by trial attorneys Matt Peacock and Cody Gomora, has secured another NOT GUILTY verdict for a client facing a DWI 2nd charge in Fort Worth, Texas. In this recent case, the State aimed to use a prior arrest from nearly 30 years ago to try and get a guilty plea out of our client. It was important to protect the client’s commercial driver’s license and future. Our client had been involved in a major crash while on his way home with fried catfish and fries. Although he admitted to drinking alcohol, his appearance told a different story.

Through diligent cross-examination and skilled presentation, Cody and Matt were able to demonstrate to the jury that the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and the BAC results that the Fort Worth Police Department provided were simply not reliable enough to prove intoxication beyond a reasonable doubt. The jury found our client Not Guilty of Driving While Intoxicated-Misdemeanor Repetition in Tarrant County, Texas.
