Assault Bodily Injury – Not Guilty on 3 Cases!

Client was arrested by Texas Department of Public Safety Officer in the city of Dallas, Texas at the Bucks Wild Gentlemen’s Club. While at the club a confrontation occurred between our client and a dancer. Multiple floor security surrounded our client and asked him to leave. Our client refused. The bouncers claim they gave him many opportunities to leave, but ultimately surround our client and lifted him from his chair to escort him out. As he got to his feet, our client hits one of the bouncers. They claim he was struck with a glass bottle. The State in front of the jury was adamant it was a glass bottle and had the witnesses testify about their certainty of the weapon. Two other bouncers alleged they were assaulted during the scuffle- one claims he was bit; the other punched in the head and face. Much of the altercation was on tape and shown to the jury. Matt Peacock and Edward (EJ) Odre were able to break down the Dallas County District Attorney’s case and evidence to show the jury the elements that were not proven. Even with video of the events and pictures of the injuries, Matt Peacock and EJ Odre were able to argue self-defense and our client was found Not Guilty on all three counts of Assault Bodily Injury.
