The decision to release DWI video of the arrest of country singer Randy Travis in Texas has faced many legal appeals. However, in June the Texas Supreme Court rejected an appeal from the country music star who is seeking to prevent the public release of a police video showing his arrest in 2012 for driving while intoxicated. During a summer of high tension over stops of African-Americans by the police, some of them deadly, a controversial police stop in Houston made headlines. Earledreka White, a woman from Louisiana, was involved in a physical confrontation with a Houston police officer that landed her in jail charged with resisting arrest. Dashcam Video of the DWI Arrest of Randy Travis to Go Public
The arrest of country singer Randy Travis for DWI in Texas made national headlines last year. Even after he pled guilty to DWI, a legal battle continued about whether dashcam video footage of the incident could be released to the public.
