NOT GUILTY – Direct Verdict – DWI – Tarrant County

Medlin Law Firm Case Win - Reduce The Dwi w/BAC > .15 To An Obstruction of a HighwayEven misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) charges can be a long battle, and this case was no exception. Here’s the story:

On May 21, 2022, our client was illegally stopped by an officer in Colleyville, Texas, based solely on a hunch after leaving a bar. A blood draw followed, and the results were analyzed by an expert with serious credibility issues. The State fought hard to replace her with another “expert,” but we successfully blocked this attempt.

The prosecution didn’t stop there. They took the fight to the appellate court and backed away from that fight. The district attorneys even tried to have our entire law firm recused from representing the client on the day of trial. After 2 ½ years and over 20 court appearances, this case finally went to trial on December 17, 2024. The State’s attempts to undermine our defense team failed, and our argument that the traffic stop was illegal led to a Directed Verdict of NOT GUILTY by the judge.
