Before building a defense practice, Gary served as an Assistant District Attorney in Tarrant County, prosecuting criminal cases for nearly a decade. That early experience still informs how he evaluates evidence, anticipates prosecutorial strategy, and prepares cases for negotiation or trial. Gary is the owner of The Medlin Law Firm since 1993, and the firm’s mission has stayed consistent: deliver clear guidance, steady communication, and a defense plan grounded in the facts.
Gary is admitted to practice in Texas and is also admitted to several federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He has served in leadership and service roles within the legal community, including President of the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and Chair of the District Seven Grievance Committee of the State Bar of Texas.
