Ron Schuler of Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery tells us their cemetery opened 52 years ago when Chandler was mostly an agricultural community. Back then, there were few homes and it wasn’t until 1970 that Sun Lakes began to be developed as a residential area.
In the 1990s, Valley of the Sun added a mortuary to its offerings and in 2004 a new mortuary was opened.
