Espee Park What BMX Bikers Are Talking About

Home/Best Places To Live In Chandler AZ/Espee Park What BMX Bikers Are Talking About

Espee Park

Espee Park is a 33-acre park in Chandler, and that makes it large for an urban park. It also has much more than walking trails and playgrounds.

Espee Park is notable for being the first bike park in the city of Chandler. It has courses for riders at all ability levels. The best riders may tackle the vertical wall that’s taller than a basketball hoop. The park has been called a destination for BMX bikers.

There is no swimming pool, but it has a splash pad and spray pad for kids. Little kids can run around in the ground sprays, stand under the candy can-shaped showers or stand under the waterfall from the fake water tower. Note that the splash park is only open from April through October.

The park has three lighted baseball/softball fields. East Valley Baseball often plays on them. There is covered seating for spectators. The Sunset Limited Pavilion is actually a group of half a dozen covered pavilions that you can rent for a party or use for a quick lunch. You can actually sit at some of the tables and watch your child on the playground or the splash pad.

Note that this location does not have a dog park, but there is a modest skate park near the parking lot.

Espee Park is located at 450 East Knox Road in Chandler. Knox road runs along the south edge of the park. The triangular park stretches north to East Warner Road. It is separated from Stonegate Park by the houses on both sides of Hamilton Place.

Espee Park is located between Arizona Avenue and McQueen though there aren’t many east-west streets that reach it, though there are many residential streets that are parallel to the park. (You pay a premium for a house backing up onto the park.)
